The National Toy Hall of Fame has just announced this year's newest inductees! What made the cut? More importantly, what didn't make the cut?

I'm just a big kid at heart. I still have some of the toys and action figures from when I was a kid growing up. I still have my most prized stash of stuff: my Star Wars figures. They're still (mostly) wrapped in plastic. I plan to pass them on to my kids - whichever one I trust the most to keep them sealed in a display case...

The Star Wars action figure collection was inducted into the National Toy Hall of Fame in 2012. Three new inductees were just announced! What made the cut? The classic, historic Swing; the "game-changing" Dungeons and Dragons; and, the equally classic Fisher-Price Little People. I loved the Fisher-Price Little People! That was pre-Star Wars! I had the School Bus and the Airplane when I was a little kid, maybe when I was six or something.

What didn't make the cut this year?

Bubble wrap. Wait, what now?! Bubble wrap? Did. Not. Make. The. Hall of Fame?! That's like the Energizer Bunny of toys! What's up with that?! I'm bummed! I think I may need to move to Canada or Tattoine or some place over this!! I think I may be outraged!

Maybe next year!
