Communities in Iowa are still in shock after a deadly tornado ripped through some small towns in the Hawkeye State. This storm system also pummeled Illinois and Wisconsin on Tuesday (5/21).
5 Killed and Dozens Hurt After Tornado Tears Across Midwest
4 people were killed when a violent twister went directly through the small town of Greenfield, Iowa, a community with a population of just over 2,000.
According to the Associated Press, there were five confirmed deaths from the tornado, with 4 being in the Greenfield area, and another woman was killed in a crash about 25 miles away when her car was apparently "blown off the road."

35 people were hurt during the severe weather, but the Iowa Department of Public Safety believes the number of injuries "is likely higher."
Storm Chasers Fly Video Drone Behind Tornado That Hit Greenfield Iowa
A dramatic video of the Iowa tornado was captured by the G.O.A.T. of storm chasing, Reed Timmer who uses his world-famous fleet of 'Dominator' vehicles that are specially designed to drive right into a twister as Timmer travels the country to intercept tornadoes.
In the video from May 21, 2024, you can see an enormous twister on the ground southwest of Greenfield, Iowa, according to Timmer's YouTube channel.
A wind turbine farm is destroyed as the tornado moves across the field, leaving a field of debris and twisted metal.
Initial reports from the National Weather Service said the Greenfield tornado was at least an EF-3, which has winds between 136 and 165 mph.
New 'Twister' Movie Debuts in Less Than 2 Months
In an updated version of the 1996 film that starred Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt, 'Twisters' is set to be released on July 19, 2024.
