It took a few pennies from the piggy bank, but artist Liang Kegang was able to collect payment on his, 'Jar Of Air.'

It was an 'artistic protest' as this artist from Beijing told the Associated Press. In an interview with the [AP], he told them, "Air should be the most valueless commodity, free to breathe for any vagrant or beggar. This is my way to question China's foul air and express my dissatisfaction."  This was a jar of authentic French mountain air.  March 30th, the auction closed, and he raked in a total of $ 860 for it.  I'm not knocking artistic expression, but, really?  $ 860 for air?

Yes, somebody else has a similar idea, on eBay.  This one is a Glass Jar of Smokey Mountain air, with the current bid price of $ 5.   I am not so certain it will fetch the same large dollar amount, but then again, it does not appear to be from an artist or some protester, but who knows?
