This is why Rochester can't have nice things.  People suck.

One of the newer spots in the Med City for families to cool off has unfortunately been vandalized.  This was set to open for the summer on Saturday, May 24th.  Sadly, because people don't know how to treat the amenities our city offers with respect, opening day has been delayed.  Here's what we know.

Vandalism Delays Opening Day of Lincolnshire Splash Pad in Rochester, Minnesota

According to a statement today by the City of Rochester, opening day for the Lincolnshire Splash Pad at 5276 Members Pkwy NW, has been postponed due to the property being vandalized.

The report indicated that a critical control valve was destroyed.  Options to reopen the Lincolnshire Splash Pad are being looked at by the Parks & Recreation team with the hope of reopening as fast as possible for summer.

This Isn't The First Time Vandalism Has Happened Just Before Opening Day for The Pools in Rochester

Back in 2022, opening day was delayed for the Silver Lake Pool at 840 7th Street NE due to a similar issue.  Rochester Parks and Recreation shared publicly in early June 2022 that the main drain cover was destroyed at Silver Lake Pool.  At that point in time, the part to replace it took a few weeks for it to be delivered and installed.
