I've been sitting on this story for a bit. Why? I've been trying to reach someone with the company but just like people ghost old dates, it appears as if my messages are being ignored as well. Based on what I saw today though, I am pretty confident that a gym in Southeast Minnesota has closed.
Looks Like Another Gym Just Closed In Southeast Minnesota
My research for this story started way back on August 1st. I got a note over at my Instagram page - Jessica On The Radio - from RockBox Fitness in Rochester. They heard that a gym I was following on Instagram was shutting down and wondered if I wanted a few free classes.
I responded and let them know that I actually work for Townsquare Media in Rochester, Minnesota and report on stories that are closing and opening. I was curious how they found out about Farrell's eXtreme Bodyshaping closing. Here is their response:
I actually know a few people that have been members so I reached out to those individuals immediately and it was mentioned that the members found out on August 1st that the place was closing immediately.
On August 1st, I also sent the following note to the e-mail listed for Farrell's eXtreme Bodyshaping in Rochester:
The website indicated that the Rochester, Minnesota location was still a valid place for membership and open. Google indicated that the location was open. I went to the Farrell's eXtreme Bodyshaping location in NW Rochester and the door was locked but I could see all of the equipment still at the location and there wasn't a sign anywhere indicating it was closed.
On August 7th, I reached out to the Farrell's eXtreme Bodyshaping corporate Instagram page to try to get an answer to verify the closing or provide the correct info.
No one responded.
Did Farrell's eXtreme Bodyshaping Actually Close in Rochester, Minnesota?
I did find a few new things out today as I was checking on this story:
- The website listed for the Rochester location - www.fxbrochester.com - is no longer working.
- I also went to the gym location at 4214 US-52 N in Rochester and although there isn't a closed sign, the inside looks very different today vs. back on August 2nd when it was full of equipment.
Maybe a big remodel is happening?! Since the bags are now gone that were near the front windows and the location is off the website, my guess is "no" on that remodel. I could be wrong though!
If I hear that Farrell's eXtreme Bodyshaping is actually staying open or maybe moving to another location, I'll put the update over on my Facebook page - Jessica On The Radio.
Looking for a Gym for Women To Meet-Up for a Fun Workout!
I did mention to RockBox that I would love to chat with them about having a meet-up for women in the area. I didn't hear if they were interested in doing something like that but if there is a gym out there that would LOVE to have a group of women join them, I know A LOT.
