It's not everyday that I get choked up when I see something online.  I typically only see ads now, which is annoying.  For some reason, this ad for glasses with interchangeable frames is in front of me nonstop.  I don't even wear glasses normally!  But one photo popped in my newsfeed yesterday that had me in tears.  It wasn't just the photo though.  It was the story that went with it.

I dare you to NOT tear up when you read this story about a Minnesota dog.

Dog In Minnesota Is Wondering If He Really Is a Good Dog

If you are a dog lover, in about 30 seconds, I have a feeling that you are going to question if there is enough room to add just one more furry friend to your loving home.  The reason is because of Scout.

Scout is sitting in an animal shelter right now in Rochester, Minnesota, and here is his story:

I keep telling myself that I am a good dog. A good boy. I like the staff here. I like the volunteers who take me for walks. I even like the food! I don’t know how I ended up in an impound. They said my time was up and boy, that sounded scary! Luckily, someone made sure I came here to get more time! I think I would really like a dog friend and a person to rely on. I am 6 years old and in great shape (as you can see!).
Give me a chance? Come meet me, maybe? - Scout

You Are A Good Boy, Scout!

I think one of the comments on the Facebook post sums up all of my feelings,

"You are a VERY good boy and deserve an amazing life!  I'm so sorry humans failed you.  We aren't all like that"

Is Scout The Perfect Fit For Your Family?

Scout, if I didn't have two large dogs already, I'd bring you home in a heartbeat!

If your heart is tugging at you right now and you can see Scout fitting in your life, please reach out to Paws and Claws Humane Society in Rochester, Minnesota.  You can find hours and contact info on the Paws and Claws Humane Society website here.

Our team had an opportunity to play with some of the puppies at this shelter and show them some extra love.  Scout isn't the only one waiting for a new, loving home.  Click here to see all of the pets that are available right now.

10 Things to Do for Your Dog if They're Scared By Fireworks

My two big German Shepherds just hated the Fourth of July. My girl Bella used to run into the bathroom, push the shower curtain aside, and lay down in the tub. My sweet guy Zeus who weighed about 100 pounds would try to get in my lap every time I sat down, or would try to hide in the space between the toilet and the tub!

The dog who likes fireworks probably is a good hunting dog too. But, not mine, and not a lot of other dogs on the Fourth of July. But there are things you can do to help your furry kid get through fireworks season without going totally insane.

The American Kennel Club has all kinds of advice on how to get your pooch through the entire summer in good shape. But for the Independence Day holiday, they have 10 tips on how to keep your dog calm.
