Minnesota Woman Shatters the Burpee World Record
My body is hurting hearing about this burpee record that was shattered by a Minnesota woman. But I gotta say, kuddos to Stephanie! 715 burpees in 60 minutes is A-Maz-Ing!
About a year ago, Stephanie Tennessen from Edina, MN found out that the chest to ground burpee world record was 709 in 60 minutes and she decided that this was a goal that she could beat. According to an interview she did with Kare11, she trained for 10 months and did 36,000 burpees to prepare to beat the Guinness World Record.
September 11th was the big day and you can see from Stephanie's post on Facebook how it went:
WE DID IT!! The new Guinness World Record for most chest to ground burpees in 60 minutes is now 715
I can hardly believe I am actually a world record holder!
Thank you to everyone for all the love and support! 2020 sure has been a Rollercoaster ride, but I am so happy to be able to check this huge task off my bucket list and to have my son there watching me make my dreams come true!
I also raised over $2600 for mental health resources here in Minneapolis for @NamiMN !
In the interview with Kare11, Stephanie shared, “I just feel like this year has been so hard on so many levels. So I hope that this ability to beat this record during a pandemic helps people realize that just cause all of this is happening, doesn’t mean that should take away from your focus at winning at your life."
One of the best things too...she did all of this with her 5 year old next to her.
