Waseca, MN (KROC-AM News) - The Minnesota Senate today joined the mayors of Waseca and Albert Lea in declaring this Saturday Arik Matson Day.

February 22nd was chosen as the day to honor the Waseca Police Officer because the date matches his badge number, 222. Albert Lea Mayor Vern Rasmussen Junior is encouraging everyone to take a moment at 2:22 Saturday afternoon to not only remember Officer Matson but all law enforcement personnel.

Waseca Mayor Roy Srp says his community is honored that so many of its residents and residents of surrounding communities and people throughout Minnesota are continuing to support Arik and his family.
