La Crosse, MN (KROC-AM News) - A milestone has been reached in the massive I-90 bridge project near La Crosse.

The Minnesota Department of Transportation says the last regular vehicle traffic crossed over the nearly 50-year-old Dresbach Bridge Thursday night just before traffic was switched to a single lane in each direction on what will eventually be the eastbound bridge over the Mississippi River.

The old Dresbach Bridge, which was built in 1967, is slated for demolition beginning next week.

Crews are continuing construction work on the new westbound span, which is scheduled to open to limited traffic this summer. The entire $187 million project is scheduled to be completed by the middle of November.
