Rochester Day Care Mom Has Needed Message for John Adams Parents
Emily Hershberger takes her daycare kids out for a walk every day at 9AM and has a message for parents with kids at John Adams Middle School in Rochester, Minnesota.
Your kids are spectacular!
But why listen to me when you can see what Emily said.
John Adams moms and dads, if your kids have the 9am gym class: kudos for having such polite middle school kids!
My daycare goes for a walk every day at 9 and they have been having a walk/bike class that goes past us. They are always so polite to my kids and me.
Full of compliments.
The first days of school my son who, wears a dino helmet, stopped and said "mom it's just so distracting they all keep saying I'm so cute" of course with a big grin on his face.
We all, middle schoolers and my crew, cause a huge traffic combustion but they are great passing us.
Today they were out walking again and one middle school girl stopped me to tell me I looked nice today and loved my outfit. I'm sure I looked dumbfounded because I was expecting a compliment on kids but it made my day.
I did call the office in hopes the teacher will tell them directly they are awesome as well.
That last line? That's the clincher. Schools hear a lot of complaints, and the compliments may be few and far between, but they're sweet and powerful medicine.

A reply to her story tells this better than I can.
Thank you so much for the positive comments. I'm a teacher at JA and have shared this post with the staff. I also have forwarded it on to the school news program, JAG News, so that all the kids can hear the positive comments.
The saying is that it takes a village to help raise kids. Thanks so much for recognizing the kindness and taking time to share it. You made the day of a lot of people with a simple post!
Middle schoolers can get a bad rap (honestly, even from me) because their growing, and learning, and it's all just so awkward. And often a little smelly.
But for every GAHh! moment we might have around middle schoolers, we have so many more where we see their goodness.
