Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) – A Rochester man is accused of hitting a person and running into a building with his vehicle and then colliding with another car - all within half an hour.

Criminal vehicular operation charges have been filed against 36-year-old Bunrith Choun, who admitted drinking before he got behind the wheel that day, which was May 3rd.

The criminal complaint says Choun was leaving Colonial Lanes when he backed into a man who was behind his vehicle.

The complaint says surveillance video shows Choun backing up “really fast” and hitting the man. It then shows Choun crashing into the building.  As he began to drive away, he hit the building a second time. Police say Choun drove off and an officer arrived to find the victim still on the ground. It was later learned he had suffered several broken ribs and a fractured pelvis.

While still at the scene, the officer got word of a traffic accident in the Country Club Manor neighborhood involving the same vehicle. A caller reported seeing the driver “stumbling from the scene.”

Choun called from a nearby residence and was arrested. He told the officer he was not aware he had hit anyone with his car. He said he had been drinking at Colonial Lanes. A blood test showed he had a blood/alcohol level of .16.

He has been ordered to make his first court appearance in August.
