Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A 30-year-old Rochester man entered into a plea agreement today to settle charges stemming from a high-speed chase earlier this month.

Andrew Berndt admitted to felony counts of fleeing police and drug possession, while four other charges, including a felony count for drug sales, were dismissed.

Berndt was arrested in the early morning hours of October 9th following a chase that began near the Government Center when a police officer noticed him driving erratically on 4th Street Southeast round 2:30 a.m. Berndt that led officers on a chase through a residential neighborhood before he sped out of Rochester on Highway 14 at speeds reaching 100 miles per hour. He was captured after he crashed into a guardrail in Chester and attempted to flee on foot even though he had been injured in the crash.

A quantity of marijuana was found in his car, which was involved in a high-speed chase through the same Rochester residential neighborhood in early September. In that case, the pursuing officer broke off the chase, but later identified Berndt as the driver. He is scheduled to be sentenced on December 16th.
