Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester police took a man into custody early Thursday - after he was treated for injuries he suffered after crashing a car near TJ Maxx Plaza.

Police say 25-year-old Samuel Anderson was apparently speeding as he drove west over the Highway 52 overpass that leads to Salem Road around 11 p.m.

His vehicle veered north off the roadway and rolled across the Highway 52 exit lane and ended up in some trees along the nearby frontage road. He and a passenger had to be extricated from the wrecked vehicle and were taken to St. Marys Hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries. Anderson was then taken to jail. The 35-year-old passenger owns the car and he is also from Rochester.

A spokesman says Anderson is facing criminal vehicular operation and driving after revocation charges. It’s also suspected he had been drinking.
