If you love BBQ, keep reading, but just know your mouth is going to start watering a bit.
Every year, Next Chapter Ministries, hosts a BBQ competition and fundraiser to help raise funds for their organization.  It is a huge event and one that is mighty tasty too.  Competitors from all over come to smoke ribs and chicken and rows and rows of pies are made for people to enjoy.  Of course, with any BBQ competition, there are taste tests and winners are picked.
The BBQ fundraiser is still on this year and is set for August 8th but, due to COVID-19, changes have been made.  Good news!  You still get to taste the scrumptious food.  I had a taste test and I will say, it is amazing.  Here's how the BBQ fundraiser works this year:
  • Step One:  Pre-order your food at www.ncmbbq.org/order.  You can pick ribs, chicken, baked beans, coleslaw, and pie.
  • Step Two:  On August 8th during your time frame (somewhere between 4pm and 8pm), drive to Autumn Ridge Church in Rochester.
  • Step Three:  Follow the directions once you are there and let them know your name.
  • Step Four:  Your food will be brought to your vehicle for you.
  • Step Five:  Enjoy
Eat some BBQ and pie and know that 100% of the proceeds will be going to help serve families impacted by the cycle of incarceration in Olmsted County.  You can learn more about Next Chapter Ministries at www.NextChapterRochester.org and share their Facebook event from here.

Do you know another nonprofit that has had to change their fundraiser due to COVID-19? I'd love to hear about it.  Let me know over on my Facebook page (Jessica On The Radio) or DM me on Instagram.
