If your kids are in love with all things science, you've probably seen a registration in your inbox about the GATEway Science Fair that happens every Winter in Rochester, Minnesota.  My own kids have created projects and learned a ton from the other exhibitors...and got a t-shirt!  Unfortunately, those registrations may come to an end according to an e-mail that just showed up in my inbox.

It is with deep regret that we share the news that the GATEway Science Fair is in danger of ceasing operations after our next Science Fair (February 26, 2022). Due to the retirements of several key Planning Team members, we anticipate a shortage of volunteers. If we are unable to find several new people to join the team, it is likely that we will not be able to continue to offer the GATEway Science Fair. We are asking you, as supporters of or past participants in the Science Fair, to help us fill these spots.

A variety of opportunities exist to match your interests and skills with our needs. Job responsibilities vary in size from a few hours a week to a few hours a year.

If you're interested in joining us, we encourage you to get involved this year while you still have the opportunity to learn the ropes from our retiring members.

What is the GATEway Science fair in Rochester?

GATEway Science Fair has been around the Rochester area for 30 years serving kids in the area with a very well-organized event that showcases science projects created by elementary students.  Kids work hard on their projects and present them to judges that offer supportive and helpful ideas on their projects.  It's a fun day and the competitors also have an opportunity to have fun with the guest speakers that are on-site too.
