Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester police arrested two men early Monday as suspects in a shooting reported by the apparent victims while they were chasing another vehicle.

Police Captain John Sherwin says it appears the incident began as a “drug deal that went bad." Sherwin says three teenagers went to the Taco Bell store near Target North about 2 a.m. One of the teens got into the other vehicle. That’s when one of the two men in the car pointed a gun at the teen, who fled and ran back to his car. He then began chasing the other vehicle and called 911 to report the incident.

Shots rang out during the chase while the vehicles were driving on 37th Street near West River Parkway. The chase continued for several miles throughout the city until the pursuers lost contact of the other vehicle. By this time, officers were looking for the vehicle and a state trooper located it in the 200 block of 26th St NW, a few blocks north of Hoover School.

One of the two men fled on foot but was caught a short distance away. A handgun was found nearby.
