St. Paul, MN (KROC-AM News) - There are some signs the flu season may be beginning to recede, but influenza is still making plenty of people sick in Minnesota.

By a weekly update on flu activity from the Minnesota Department of Health continues to rate overall flu activity statewide as widespread even though there was another sizable decrease in the number of flu-related hospitalizations last week. The report also shows some modest declines in the number of outbreaks reported by schools and long-term care facilities, but the percentage of people seeking medical care and presenting with flu-like symptoms was on the rise last week.

The number of probable outbreaks in schools dropped to 35 last week, while 14 long-term care facilities reported confirmed flu outbreaks.
