I've heard that raising kids is one of the hardest things you will do, but it's also the most rewarding. I don't have kids, but I've had many many conversations with my parents about raising my brothers and I. They admit that they weren't perfect parents and this recent survey confirms that. I'm not trying to bash on anyone's parenting styles, just telling you about a survey that came out! You are doing what you believe is best for your child, and that is all you can do.  WCCO posted about this survey the other day and it is super relevant to Minnesota parents.

CISION PR Newswire claims this survey asked 2,000 parents about what it's like being a parent and found that the average parents make 221 minor and major parenting mistakes each year. Some of those mistakes are 65% of parents say they let their kids have too much screen time. While 42% say they accidentally taught their kids swear words. My dad is guilty of this one... 39% said they let their kids watch shows/videos/ movies that weren't age-appropriate. If you are not the youngest child, you probably agree with this one, but 50% of the parents surveyed said their youngest child was their favorite.

Those are just tiny things that in the long run won't mean much to the kiddos. This same survey found that 42% of parents turn to their parents for advice, while 17% turn to the internet. Like I said earlier, there is no manual on how to raise a Minnesota kid, so you just have to do what you think is best for them.
