Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A Rochester police officer made an easy - and unusual - arrest over the weekend.

The officer had just completed booking a drug suspect at the Olmsted County jail Saturday night when he was sent to the Law Enforcement Center lobby. A man had called dispatch to say a warrant had been issued for his arrest and he was turning himself in. He also said he had some drugs in his possession.

The officer checked and told the man he was mistaken, that no warrants had been issued for his arrest. But when the man gave the officer a small amount of methamphetamine, he was arrested.

The man - 36-year-old Chris Field - is facing a felony drug charge. The officer suspected Field was under the influence of drugs at the time.
