The 6 Dumbest Questions People Ask About Minnesota
You think these words aren't uttered, but they are...
Before I begin, I'll inform you that I've only been a Minnesota resident for about a year. Thankfully, beforehand, I was well traveled enough to realize that there's more to Minnesota than just the cold.
Some folks just don't get it though...
I decided to ask my friends, and listeners, what dumb questions they commonly get about our fine state. I was shocked at the answers. Let's go over the dumbest of the dumb...
"Is it really that cold?"
Only for 5 months. Not all year round, dummy. In fact, it only gets to be an average of 6 degrees between December and February up north, and 16 further south.
"Are there really 10,000 lakes?"
Nope. We're making it up.
In all seriousness, according to this website, there are actually 11,842 lakes that are 10 acres or more.
"Do you really drive on lakes in the winter?"
Not if you don't want to die.
"Does everyone talk like the movie 'Fargo'?"
Uh, no.
"Are there mountains in Minnesota?"
Maybe not huge monstrosities, but we have some good hiking. Check it out here.
"Everyone likes Prince there, huh?"
Duh. He's an icon.
