This Minnesota Town Woke Up To A Record Low This Morning
It's the backside of the calendar for the month of July and typically we are thinking of another hot, humid, steamy day on tap. The last two days we've had some relief from our typical Minnesota summer weather with highs reaching very comfortable temps in the mid-70's like what we will see again today. Last night or early this morning if you were out, maybe you grabbed a sweatshirt as it reached around 55 for a low in our area. International Falls simply said hold my beer, 37 was the low this morning in Ol' International Falls, setting a new record low for our friends to the North.
WCCO-TV's Matt Brickman highlighted the new record low (breaking the old record of 38 which was set back in 1898) this morning.
Brr. I googled it and the average low for International Falls this time of year is about 52-53 degrees. In our area, the average low temp this time of year is ten degrees warmer at 62 degrees. The record low for Faribault was set in 1905 on July 17th. The low that morning was 10...
It was also a chilly start for the residents of Hibbing this morning with temps starting off at 37 too.
Winter is coming...
