Summer is full of amazing events in Southeast Minnesota.  Unfortunately, Mother Nature loves to show her force at times and causes hazardous and the potential for unsafe conditions.

Sadly, the potential of that type of weather on Thursday, June 26th, has cancelled another event in Rochester.

Another Popular Event in Rochester, Minnesota Was Just Cancelled Due to Weather

Events being cancelled due to inclement weather seems to be a trend this week in Southeast Minnesota.  On Wednesday, June 25th, Rochesterfest announced that they were cancelling the remainder of their scheduled events for the night due to alerts from the National Weather Service of severe storms and the threat of tornadoes.

A few hours after that was announced, another popular summer event in Rochester announced a huge change for its scheduled event on June 26th, 2025.  Sadly, inclement weather is once again the reason this fun event is taking a pause in Rochester.

Thursdays Downtown Cancelled in Rochester For Thursday, June 26th

According to the Rochester Downtown Alliance, Thursdays Downtown on June 26th is officially cancelled due to the potential of inclement weather.

“While we know how much the community looks forward to each week of Thursdays Downtown, the safety of our attendees, vendors, performers, and staff is our top priority,” said Shawn Fagan, Executive Director of the Rochester Downtown Alliance. “This was a difficult decision, but it was made in partnership with Rochester Police Department, National Weather service and our production experts to ensure the wellbeing of everyone involved.”

When Is The Next Thursdays Downtown?

Next week, another break is happening for Thursdays Downtown due to the 4th of July holiday.  The next date to enjoy the live music, food, and other vendors is July 10th.
