Thursday’s Rochesterfest Scuttled by Stormy Forecast

Rochester, MN (KROC-AM News) - Rochester residents and visitors went from having an abundance of things to do today, to a short list of indoor activities.

Rochesterfest Executive Director Brent Ackerman issued a statement shortly before 10am announcing all Rochesterfest Activities today and tonight have been canceled due to the forecast calling for thunderstorms this morning and this afternoon and evening. Ackerman stated “the safety of our visitors, vendors and performers is always our top priority.”

The message followed a nearly identical announcement by organizers of the popular Thursday’s on First and Third event.

The National Weather Service has put the chance of storms today at around 80-percent.
