Just a day after we heard that Kirkland's and Popus Gourmet Popcorn was closing, another popular spot announced that their location is closed.

For Lease Signs Up In Window Of Popular Food Spot in Rochester, Minnesota

I was really hoping that this news wasn't true.  I reached out to the company but before their statement was shared on social media or I got an answer back, I drove by to see for myself.

If you look through all of the construction crap (Yes, that is my new saying for what we have been dealing with in Rochester), you'll notice that there are some new "For Lease" signs up in a window at one of my favorite spots to eat in Rochester.

Once Again, Tinn's Is Closed In Rochester

The first day Tinn's reopened at 1219 2nd Street SW in Rochester was February 28th, 2024 - not only did I write a story about it, I was there.

When Tinn's got hit with a fake coupon scam - I wrote the story to alert our community.

When my husband was in the hospital across the street for a few days - this was where I grabbed food.

When there were free fry deals - I was there.

When there wasn't a place to park - I was there, but I made my kid go inside to pick up the food while I drove around the block.

When Tinn's had a fun giveaway with a few other restaurants near St. Mary's - I was there...and also told all of our fans that listen to Y-105FM and read the stories we publish on all of our Townsquare Media stations...because supporting local is what we do.

In other words...I am a huge fan of Tinn's.

What I saw today was devastating...although, understandable.  I'm not sure how our town expects businesses to survive when you basically surround the doorways and entrances with fences and construction zones and at times shut the road down completely.

Latest Note From Tinn's Regarding The Closure Of The Rochester Location

Around the same time that I received a note from Tinn's, the following news was shared on their Facebook page:

Rochester, we’re so grateful for you. Your support has meant everything to us, and we can’t thank you enough for showing up the way you always have.

Due to the construction challenges, we made the difficult decision to close our doors for now, but this isn’t the end of our story, it’s just a pause. We gave it everything we had to keep bringing you the hot subs and fresh fries you love, but the circumstances made it impossible to operate, the timing just wasn’t right for us to continue on 2nd St.

We are and have been actively searching for a new home in Rochester that will allow us to serve you even better, we’re not giving up.

In the meantime, you can still find us at our Northfield location, and we’re always here for your catering needs. We’d love to see you there if ever you’re in the area, swing by and say hi!

Thank you again for all the love and support. We can’t wait for the day we’re back in Rochester serving this amazing community.

This isn’t goodbye, it’s see you soon. Tinns will be back.

Where Is The Tinn's Location in Northfield, Minnesota?

Tinn's, I really hope you figure out a spot to put your truck or a place in Rochester to open again.

In the meantime, if you are craving those fries or a Philly Cheese with Bacon one more time, you can find Tinn's in Northfield at 1910 Honeylocust Dr.
