I Went Shopping For Deck Décor In Rochester and Discovered 2026’s Biggest Outdoor Trend
One of the easiest ways to add a little bit of character to your home is the "extras" that you add. In 2026, there is one specific theme that people are searching for the most...which means, the house down the street from you that is always looking picture-perfect, they are probably showing this décor off right now.
Lucky for you, I found a store in Rochester, Minnesota that has quite a bit ready for you to buy and take home right now.
Animal Garden Décor Is The New Trend For 2026
We just did a big remodel at our house and got a brand new deck and front entry. As I was trying to imagine the new space and find a few colorful items to help enhance these new outdoor spaces, I learned quickly from Viva Vanity that animal garden décor is the hot pick for 2026.
That makes sense.
Everywhere I went to find new items for our deck, I saw a theme - lots and lots of statues of animals. Even solar lights in the shape of animals. But two animals seem to be the favorites...and they are everywhere - turtles and elephants. And one store in Rochester has quite the variety of items on its shelves.
Unique Animal Garden Décor Items I Found In Rochester, Minnesota
One of my favorite areas to walk through at stores is the garden area. Lowe's, Home Depot, Target, Walmart...all have a great selection and probably have some adorable turtles and elephants to take home.
However, my latest shopping trip was at Marshall's in Rochester and below are a few of the unique garden items that I found. Who knows...one of these might be exactly what you've been searching for on your hunt to stay on trend.
If you saw a woman taking photos of the garden items at Marshall's, that was me. At first, I started taking photos of the turtles to send to my daughter, because this is basically her thing. She even owns a tortoise - its name is Sumo.
But then I realized that this was a bit bigger than just turtles...this aisle was full of super cute animals that were all created to help liven up your outdoor spaces. Here are a few of my favorites that I saw at Marshall's.
You can't be mad after you see this one...
This one below, I have no idea what it is supposed to be. But if you wanted a fake grass sculpture of an animal, Marshall's can hook you up.
I'm having a little regret about this next one...because it is so cute. This "little" caterpillar or inchworm is just the most adorable addition for any outdoor space.
Why Are Turtles So Popular Right Now For Décor?
According to Homes and Gardens, back in 2025, the whimsical garden décor had a boom and turtles were a huge focus. Retailers carried turtle statues, turtle planters, stepping stones that were turtles, and the solor lights in the shape of turtles.
Elle Decor mentioned that outdoor rooms really got a huge focus because people were trying to create complete "living rooms" on their decks, patios, and other outdoor spaces. Some of that included artistic pieces, like animals.
