New Networking Event With Purpose Now In Minnesota
One thing that I've always said, on-air and also in the stories I write, is you are going to get the real me. Finding that in return in the corporate/business/work world has been a challenge.
I literally have a pile of business cards from networking events but I can count on one hand how many of those people truly know me as a person. The connections just haven't happened in the way that I was hoping.
"Have you heard about Purpose Driven Coffee? You'd love this group!"
"Networking" is a huge buzzword. You shake some hands, catch up with others in the community, and maybe even make a connection for a potential sale. You don't have to look far to find an event where all of that can happen.
But what if there was a networking type of group more than just the surface-level conversations?
A few weeks ago, I got a note from one of my co-workers that said, "Have you heard about Purpose Driven Coffee? You'd love this group!".

Honestly, the word "coffee" caught my attention the most, which makes sense since I am the self-proclaimed Coffee Queen for Minnesota. I wasn't aware of this group so I immediately went to Google to figure out what I was missing. Here's what I found...
In November 2022, Mick White of the 100 Year Manifesto had an idea: to bring people together for coffee, conversations, and meaningful connections. But more than that, it was about purpose—starting the month with purpose.
When Does Purpose Driven Coffee Meet?
Right now in Minnesota, Purpose Driven Coffee meet-ups are happening once a month around the state and I had the chance to check out the Rochester meeting a few weeks ago.
If you are looking for deeper conversations, stronger connections, this is a group you need to check out at least once. Here's a breakdown of what to expect:
- 7:00-7:30 – Doors open and social
- 7:30 – 8:30 – Special guest shares their purpose journey – and spurs small group discussion
- 8:30 – 9:00 – Social and exit

Learning more about people and spurring a great discussion is the goal for the meeting and it all starts with the guest speaker. On April 4th, April Dahl will be sharing with the group in Rochester.
While I am a little bit more comfortable talking behind a microphone in a soundproof studio, I'll be hanging out with the group as the special speaker in May.
