What U.S. State Turned Down The Olympics?
The 1976 Winter Olympics were hosted by Innsbruck, Austria, only because there was a U.S. state that turned them down.
Colorado was originally awarded the 1976 Winter Olympics, but in 1972, the people of Colorado overwhelmingly voted not to spend tax dollars to have the Games there.
