Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester is now riding a two-week streak of below average weather.

The streak began Dec 22nd and has produced 11 days with subzero temperatures in Rochester. Seven of those days included temperatures that dropped into the minus teens.

For Rochester, the coldest it’s been is -17 on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. The weather on Jan 1st was the second coldest New Year’s Day in Rochester history. During the streak, there was also a three-day run when the mercury never got above zero. The streak may finally end Sunday when temps are expected to climb into the upper 20’s.

It was cold across southeast Minnesota Friday morning with minus teens nearly everywhere. There were even some reported minus 20’s, including -22 a few miles north of Byron.
