Wrapping Presents Mathematically

OK...so you've finished up your last-minute shopping. Now it's time to wrap those gifts. If you dread wrapping as much as I do, check out this unique way of doing it using basic mathematics. (I knew those high school math classes would come in handy one day).

The lady mathematician in the video has some very clever tips for a perfectly wrapped present. I was able to follow along for her first couple of tricks. She started to lose me however when she got into the whole 'side of paper = d + (1.5 h)' stuff. When I get to that point, it's probably just best to throw the present in a gift bag with some tissue paper.
