Can A Divided America Heal?
There are a few things to know about me: I like baking pies, all things Tom Hanks, and a good Ted Talks video.
The interesting thing about this video happened last night when I watched it with a group. Some of the viewers found it to be a downer while and others (including me) were left feeling positive about it...
Get That Goal!
I have to share this cool thing I saw on Facebook which was posted by a former classmate who teaches at 'our' school. She asked the fourth, fifth and sixth graders to share a quote that would help motivate them to reach the goals they had set...
Holiday Movies
Last year my family started a tradition that in reality had been going strong for a few years. Its just that last year we finally realized it!
We like to watch Christmas movies together and so we've started collecting them. The challenge is getting all of those movies scheduled in the few days between Thanksgiving and New Years Eve along with all the other activities that fill that time of year..
Light ‘Em Up!
Daylight savings time has ended and with it comes the 'early' sunsets. I always get a kick out of people agonizing about how it gets dark so early. "It's just so dark! Isn't it just terrible how it gets dark so early now!?"

His suit was based on the claim that without a knife, he was forced to take a bite of the chicken breast and then choked because the bite of chicken he took was too big...
Want To Be More Successful? Imagine This!
A new study from the University of Arizona shows the one event you should consider if you need motivation or inspiration to be successful: your death.
The researchers studied basketball players who played better if they thought about death before they took to the court...
Give Your Flu Shot a Boost
My plan to get my flu shot in October didn't pan out. Again.
Today I found out the October vs. November issue doesn't matter as much as the time of day you get your immunization.
Who knew?! Well, researchers I guess, but hang with me...
Crap Or Treasure?
This past spring I started spending mid-days in the Y-105 FM studio. For some reason, this morning- while waiting for James to finish up his time in the chair- I started to clean the studio. You may not know this about me, but cleaning is NOT my strong suit...
Give ‘Em Some Candy!
I think we would all agree a common parenting mistake is forcing kids to grow up too quickly. No judgement here; we all do the best we can every day and sometimes we look back and think "I probably shouldn't have..." (fill in the blank with your parenting regret of the moment...
