Another store in Rochester, Minnesota is leaving a hole at the Apache Mall.  Christopher & Banks, located near Scheel's, has signage up stating that their store is closing.

I heard the rumor first this morning that most of the Christopher & Banks stores were closing and read some of the articles but was seeing some differences in information.  Before I reported on what I knew, I tried to get some verification from the large, Minnesota-based retail chain about the Rochester location but unfortunately, no one has returned my e-mails, phone calls, Facebook messages, or live chat messages.  So, I went to the store myself to find out.

Right away as you walk in, you see the sign that says "Store Closing" on the Christopher & Banks store in the Apache Mall.  Sales have started and according to a few news sources, it has started liquidation sales and store closings with a hope that their company can still be sold to potential buyers.

The story by the Star Tribune states that "after sales plummeted during the pandemic, Plymouth-based Christopher & Banks has filed for bankruptcy protection and expects to close a large portion, if not all, of its stores."
