Rochester Says Goodbye to Boulder Tap House – Here’s What Might Be Moving In
March has been a very busy month with several businesses in the Rochester area announcing that they are closing.
- For Lease signs are now up at the Tinn's location on 2nd Street in Rochester
- Popus Gourmet Popcorn will be closing its downtown location in March
- "Everything Must Go" signs now up at the popular decor shop, Kirkland's, in Rochester
According to a post on Facebook, it appears that another shift is happening for restaurant in town that is known for its cheese curds.

Boulder Tap House in Rochester, Minnesota Is Closing
If you weren't hanging out on Facebook Thursday, you may have missed the note that Boulder Tap House created for their fans.
Based on the words that I read, it appears that the end is near for Boulder Tap House at 24 17th Ave. NW in Rochester. Here's part of the announced that was shared regarding that closing news:
Dear Boulder Tap House Rochester Community, While change can sometimes be hard, it can also be something truly exciting—and that’s exactly where we’re at. After a lot of thoughtful consideration, we’ve made the decision to transition this location to a new for the Rochester community restaurant concept. Before anyone panics—we want you to know that Boulder Tap House and it's brand isn’t going anywhere! We have 10+ locations (and growing), with the closest being in Mankato, MN—so you can still get your fix anytime We absolutely LOVE the Rochester community and have been so grateful to be part of its growth.
When Is Boulder Tap House Closing in Rochester, Minnesota?
The last day stop in and order your favorites from the Rochester Boulder Tap House location will be April 12th, 2026.

The Boulder Tap House spot at 24 17th Ave. NW won't be empty for long. The post to fans had a bit of a tease as to what will be opening next.
With so many amazing restaurants opening in the area, we saw an opportunity to bring something different—something Rochester doesn’t currently have—and something our team and ownership are incredibly excited about.
There were a few additional hints given about the new space that will be opening in Rochester.
Let’s just say… things are about to get a little more smoky, a little more bold, and you might want to bring your appetite for fire-kissed flavor…
Is A Grizzly's Grill Opening Soon in Rochester, Minnesota?
On the post announcing the closing of Boulder Tap House, fans were asked to guess what they think might be opening next based on the hints. The majority of the answers in the comments were "Grizzly's".
Based on the information on the Grizzly's Grill website, they are known for their smoke & fire. Overall, they are a wood-fired grill and saloon and most of its locations are sitting in Minnesota or Wisconsin.
