Christmas Anonymous Needs Your Help Now More Than Ever!

This Saturday is Christmas Anonymous Store Day. It's a big day where Christ United Methodist Church is filled with shoppers, kids, toys, clothes, bikes, food, and oh my gosh, so much Christmas Spirit.

Oh, and a ton of volunteers. Funny I should mention volunteers there because that's exactly what they need. Specifically, the call has gone out for store day escorts. I've volunteered for Christmas Anonymous many times, and being an escort is a great gig.

You grab a bunch of huge bags, tuck 'em in your waste band over your butt (you can try pockets, but trust me...waste band over your butt), and step up to meet the person you'll be escorting thru the Christmas Anonymous store. You get info on the family so you know how many kids, their ages, and that sort of thing.

Then you help them shop. New clothes for the kids? You bet. Winter wear for the family? Of course. Where are the toys? They're coming up. New toys? Of course. And gently used toys, too. And bikes as long as they last, and by the end, you two have gotten to know each other a little bit, you say goodbye and they head to their car.

Then, they drive around, and pick up all their bags, PLUS a food box from Channel One, with everything you need for a Christmas dinner.

And you? You feel so good...by the end of the day you'll probably have tears in your eyes from all the love you're feeling. Seriously. It's an amazing experience and I hope you'll step up to help.
