In case you missed it, the CDC dropped a bomb on us yesterday, announcing that Halloween is canceled. While they didn't say it in those words exactly, basically they said every normal thing that we would do on Halloween is not recommended during a pandemic, well, for the most part.

Trick-or-treating, costume parties, trunk-or-treating, indoor haunted houses, hayrides with people not in your household - all not safe or recommended.

When we shared the news to our Facebook page, there were a lot of mixed reviews with the main review being bummed out. I'm right there with you - ready for some normalcy, but definitely trying to stay safe.

Fortunately, there are some incredibly creative people in this world trying to come up with solutions. And I think this candy slide may just be the most brilliant one yet.

There are a few things that the CDC does recommend to give your kiddos a fun low-risk Halloween: send them on a Halloween themed scavenger hunt, have a virtual Halloween party, carve pumpkins, decorate your house, or have a Halloween movie night.

We are expected to hear what the Minnesota Department of Health recommends later today.
