Townsquare Media Cares and we want to make a difference, even if that means picking butts... of course, we're talking about cigarette butts.

Today was our day to make Rochester a Litter Bit Better, so the Townsquare Media on-air crew hit South Broadway and picked a LOT of butts. Did we pick yours? If so, enough. Whether out your car window or into the snow at a bar, please just stop with the cigarette butts.

Every year since 2007, A Litter Bit Better, from RNeighbors, has seen thousands of volunteers pick up about 20,000 pounds of trash around Rochester each year.

We've been doing it for three years now, and this year we worked both sides of South Broadway from Auto Zone and Daube's to Perkins South and Kwik Trip. This year was considerably better than past years. "I can't believe we didn't find anything weird or cool," Quick Country's Curt St John said as he held up a plastic spoon, "unless you call this weird and cool. I don't, I call it 'spoon,'" he said.

James Rabe, from Y-105FM, chimed in quick, "I am sick and tired of touching other peoples' butts!"

Also, big thanks to GLK Orthodontics. We found the least amount of litter on the space outside their building, so we stopped in to say hi and get a picture.

Every year, Townsquare Media helps the community in a variety of ways from supporting local fundraisers, to running daily public service messages, to creating digital community campaigns, and hosting events attended by thousands.

To have your event listed on our community calendar, please submit your event here. It will be included on the community calendar on all of our radio station websites. To request a donation or radio/digital support, please fill out and turn in this form.
