According to a new survey done by Pet Sitters International (PSI), "the world’s largest educational association for professional pet sitters", more professional pet sitting services are offered for cats than dogs! What?! I thought dogs were man's best friend! Turns out more and more people are looking for services for their cats than dogs.

The last time PSI conducted this survey in 2016 it showed that

96.1% of businesses serviced dogs

and 95.5% serviced cats.

Now that has changed!  This year's survey shows that

97.3% service cats

and 96.2% service dogs.

PSI's VP of Marketing and Operations, Beth Stultz-Hairston, says that since it seems like the pet-services industry is very focused on dogs, cat owners don't know where to go when in fact "the majority of PSI’s member businesses offer care for both cats and dogs, as well as many other pet types.” She also says that many businesses are now choosing to focus solely on cats!

Interesting! What do you think about this? Does it seem like more and more people are interested in hiring professional caregivers for their cats over their dogs?
