Rochester’s Only Rage Room Has Quietly Closed Its Doors
Remember when Minnesota shut down back in 2020 and our kids in Rochester did distance learning for over a year? Yeah...at that time, I was also trying to do a radio show on Y-105FM while my kids were having virtual band class with their trombone, violin, and drums. Fun times.
During that shelter-in-place time, it has been reported that about 40% of adults in the United States started to experience higher levels of stress and anxiety. Depression symptoms started to pop up for more individuals and that sense of loneliness grew.
One type of store started to trend even before the pandemic hit opened up in January 2023. Unfortunately, it appears that this store has now closed in Rochester.

Trendy Business Now Closed in Rochester, Minnesota
Before the pandemic hit, we must have already been wanting a way to relieve some stress because rage rooms started to open around 2018 and 2019. Rochester didn't see one open though until January 27th, 2023 when The Mess Hall turned their lights on at 1635 North Broadway in the River Center Plaza.
Want to hit glass bottles with a bat? Our Townsquare Media team did that...and had a blast! I didn't have a bat but did use a crowbar.
The Mess Hall also had some areas where you could splatter paint. I don't have a photo of that room but just imagine walls that have paint thrown on them everywhere.
Unfortunately, it appears that the lights are now off.
