Recreating a golf course is no small feat, but that is exactly what is happening at what Montgomery National Golf Course's website calls the "World’s 1st Music-Themed Championship 18 Hole Golf Course."

The course is in the third year of ownership by Greg McKush, who formerly was the Director of Golf at the Meadows at Mystic Lake. Greg certainly isn't backing down from being bold. Over the winter Greg held a name the hole contest for the course for the upcoming season, and all of the holes have some sort of Beatles music-themed name to them like Hole 6 is also called "While my guitar gently weeps", and also features a larger than life Olson guitar-shaped bunker. Another example is Hole 5, that one is called "Fool on the Hill".

The submarine featured in the picture above greets guests as they come into the parking lot and walk towards the existing clubhouse.

I will say that when Greg had the submarine delivered there were a few eyebrows raised in the neighborhood of people who had no idea what was going on. I got a call from my wife, regarding "someone just bought a submarine".

In the future according to the course's website a new clubhouse, deck, winter skating, a toboggan hill, and a trout pond are being planned for the facility. If you get the itch for some musically themed golf you can head here to book your tee time.

To quote Dodgeball "It's a bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see if it pays off for 'em."
