New Restaurant, Lumi, Has Officially Opened In Rochester, MN

If you are looking for a new restaurant to check out in Rochester, it appears that a brand new one has officially opened in the downtown area.

Another New Restaurant Has Officially Opened in Rochester, Minnesota

I am a HUGE fan of eating out, mostly because I am not the best cook in the world. Ask my family. And when a new restaurant pops up in the area, I love checking it out. I have a few favorites already in town but I am always open to adding more to that list.

There are almost 5,000 restaurants in the state of Minnesota. In case you missed it, some of the most recent restaurants that have opened in the Rochester area were:

Ruth's Chris Steakhouse - they opened in Downtown Rochester in June
Mill Valley Kitchen - opened in the old Pescara location in August
Ichiddo Ramen will be opening soon
Honey Baked Ham appears to be opening the week before Thanksgiving

Based on a sign out front of the old The Well Dining/Dooley's location, it appears that Lumi has also officially started serving up meals in the Med City.

Lumi is Now Open in Downtown Rochester, Minnesota

The space that Lumi is now calling home in Rochester has gone through a few transitions the past two years. For years, this space was home to a popular bar called Dooley's. After some major renovations, the space opened up as The Well Dining in February 2023. Unfortunately, that restaurant closed in December 2023 and the spot transitioned into an event space.

Now, Lumi is putting their name on the address 255 1st. Ave. SW and are ready to welcome you in for a great meal. I haven't had any of their food, so I can't tell you how good it is, but they've got another location at 921 Nicollet Mall in Minneapolis and they've got quite the fan group that loves its Mediterranean dishes.
