Rochester MN (KROC AM News) - A popular monthly event that put the spotlight on local military veterans has come to an end.

Dave Allen, President of the Scott Hosier Veteran's Round Table in Rochester issued a statement Tuesday announcing the cancellation of all future presentations by the group. The demise of the events, which often attracted audiences of hundreds of people, follows the death of Tom Hosier in October.

He and his son Scott, a high school history teacher, launched the program in 2004 and Tom continued organizing and hosting the Round Table following his son’s death.

Allen says, without Tom Hosier’s devotion and skills in identifying and interviewing veterans, the Round Table cannot continue in its previous form and any changes would be incompatible with his intentions and would not do justice to the legacies Hosier and his son. He also added,

“I do believe the Round Table staff members can declare “mission accomplished” in having helped our veterans tell their tales and preserve their histories.
