Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - Rochester area commuters are being reminded about the new Park and Ride sites that become effective Monday, June 29.  

One is the IBM parking lot and the other is the Olmsted County Fairgrounds.They are replacing the Park and Ride sites that had been located at the two Walmart stores. Rochester Public Transit will provide service from the new sites to the downtown and St Mary’s Hospital.The pickup and drop off times at the new locations will be the same as those at the Walmart lots.

Here is the information for those planning to use the new sites:

IBM NORTH LOT Vehicles can enter from 37th Street NW, 31st Ave NW or Valley High Drive entrances. After 7 p.m. you can only exit at 37th Street or 31st Ave NW (wait for automatic gate to open). Look for the Park and Ride signs. There are three lots designated for park and ride on the north side of the IBM facility along the entrance drive off of 37th Street NW. The IBM Park and Ride lot will be served by RPT Routes 18D, 12Midday and 12N. There is no overnight parking allowed. The ride on the direct route is 10 minutes to St. Mary’s and 15 minutes to Mayo Clinic.

FAIRGROUNDS/ GRAHAM PARK Vehicles can enter from South Broadway, 16th Street SE or 3rd Ave SE. The lot is in the northwest corner of the fairgrounds (south of Denny’s Restaurant). Look for the Park and Ride sign. The Fairgrounds Park and Ride will be served by Route 6D, 6 Midday and 7N. Walmart south will be no longer be a designated park and ride. The center will be served by Routes 6A, 6 Midday and 7N.
