Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) - A young boy suffered serious injuries after apparently falling out of a 4th floor window Monday night.

Rochester Police Lt. Mike Sadauskis says the incident happened around 9:30 at the Washington Village Apartment complex along 11th Ave NW, near Washington School.

Sadauskis says the 3-year-old Columbia Heights boy was on a bed that was against the wall of a bedroom when he leaned against a window screen and it came loose.

The toddler landed on some grass and was initially unresponsive. Sadauskis says he regained consciousness before first responders arrived but apparently suffered serious injuries.

Sadauskis says a 21-year-old woman was in the bedroom when the boy fell. His mother was in another room.

Sadauskis says criminal charges are not expected to be filed.
