Easter Sunday 2025: List of Minnesota Stores Closed for the Holiday

If you are hoping to make a quick stop at a store on Easter Sunday, think again.  Quite a few stores in Minnesota have already announced that they will be closed for about 24 hours so their employees can have a day off for the holiday.

When Is Easter Sunday This Year?

Easter Sunday is coming up fast on the calendar.  This year, the holiday falls on Sunday, April 20th, 2025.

List of Stores That Are Closed on Easter Sunday 2025

A few years ago, I was getting my kids ready for the Easter Sunday church service and found out, while getting the kids dressed, that one of my boys outgrew his dress pants.  I quickly turned into one of the 50% of people who buy a new outfit to wear to an Easter Sunday and thankfully I found a store at the last minute with pants in his size.

Or, you realized that the Easter bunny forgot to pick up candy for your kids and you have to make a quick dash to the nearest store on his behalf.

Over $22 billion is spent on candy, clothing, and food items for Easter Sunday by the combo of those who plan ahead and the rest of us who procrastinate.

If you are needing to buy new Easter Sunday clothes or are having family over for brunch and are planning the menu, you may want to get your shopping done early.  Several stores have confirmed that they will not be open on Easter Sunday.

What Stores And Restaurants Are Open On Easter Sunday 2025?

If you need a last-minute grocery item for that family meal, Parade.com shared a list of grocery stores, including Walmart, that have decided to stay open for the Easter holiday.  They have also included restaurant chains that will have a feast ready for your family, just in case you are wanting to close up your own kitchen this Easter.  See both of those lists at Parade.com.

Locally, HyVee stores also typically stay open.  Verify hours at your local HyVee store just to make sure before you run out for that last-minute ingredient.
