Update About the Uptown Cub Foods Store That Closed Suddenly in Minnesota
I think a lot of us get nervous when we hear about stores closing. And when several happen in a row, worry starts to grow and our mind can go down a rabbit hole wondering what might close next. Unfortunately, many were curious what the fate would be for the Uptown Cub store, especially when other stores were reportedly closing too.
About the same time that the Cub Foods store at 1104 Lagoon Ave. suddenly closed, word got out that the following Cub Foods locations were also closing:
St. Paul Midway Cub Foods store on University Ave. W - was supposed to close August 2nd but is now planning to close on August 30th.
Baxter Cub Foods will be closing in September due to an acquisition by Miner's Inc.
Back in November of 2024, the Cub Foods in Brooklyn Park South shuttered for good as well.

While the future isn't so bright for some of the Cub locations above, it appears that the lights are back on for the Cub Foods store in Uptown.
Uptown Cub Foods Store in Minnesota Is Now Open Again!
According to Bring Me The News, the Cub store in Uptown actually did shut down for "some needed repairs". The store is back open now and shoppers will see a few new changes when they walk inside.
As soon as you walk through the doors, you'll notice that the entrance has more of a spacious feel. New shelving has also been added in the store. And that smell of fresh flowers - that is coming from the larger floral department. Depending on the time of year that you shop, you'll also notice the seasonal items are easier to find as they now have a dedicated aisle.
