Forever 21 Updates Gift Card and Return Policies in Minnesota: What You Need To Know
A few weeks ago, after Joann Fabrics announced that all locations in the United States were closing, a few "Karen" moments erupted. Now, some of that happened because people were buying gift cards and items from fake scammy websites. But when news hit that gift cards were no longer accepted at stores, some shoppers demanded to talk to a manager...or just walked out of the store with merchandise they technically didn't pay for.
To help avoid ALL of that for another popular store that is closing, I wanted to make sure you had the heads up about some new policies happening this week. Maybe tell your friends about this by simply hitting that "share" button on Facebook. Unless you love seeing pics of your friend (aka "Karen") show up in a viral meme.

Forever 21 Issues New Policies At All Stores, Including in Minnesota
A few months ago, it was announced that Forever 21 had filed for bankruptcy and all stores in the United States would be closing for good. According to NBC News, 2024 saw the highest number of retail stores announce closures and sadly, Forever 21 is now listed next to names like Joann Fabrics, Big Lots, and Party City.
Just prior to the pandemic, Forever 21 filed for bankruptcy. At the time, a future for the company was still a dream thanks to Authentic Brands buying Forever 21 out of bankruptcy. According to NBC News, the CEO of Authentic admitted that buying Forever 21 was "probably the biggest mistake I made."
Unfortunately, bankruptcy filing #2 happened for Forever 21 and has left us with about 354 stores closing throughout the country and over 9,200 employees losing their jobs. While some Forever 21 stores shuttered for good on or before April 1st, all stores will have their final sale before May 1st.
Forever 21 No Longer Accepting Gift Cards Online Or In Stores
If you've been holding on to those gift cards at Forever 21, you can just throw them in the garbage. According to USA Today, Tuesday, April 15th, was the final day to use a gift card for purchases.

Forever 21 No Longer Allowing Customers to Use Store Credit
Another new policy that is now in place at Forever 21 is that customers can no longer use any store credit that they had. The final day for store credit was also Tuesday, April 15th.
Forever 21 No Longer Allowing Items To Be Returned
According to a statement on the Forever 21 website, all sales are now final. No returns or exchanges are allowed.
