Get ready, Rochester.  Lime e-scooters and e-bikes are officially coming back to the Med City in 2026.  This year, you'll see even more of those around town.

If you aren't happy about that bit of news, you can thank the rest of Rochester for this decision.  Total rides jumped 21% last year, which means, people are loving this way to get around town even more than they did before.  (If you haven't tried it, it is actually really fun too!)

Lime Scooters Are Back in Rochester in 2026 - Here's What's New This Year

Based on the statement by the City of Rochester, improvements have been made to help ensure a safer and more accessible shared space as Lime Scooters and E-bikes are reintroduced to the Med City.

Here are the changes that have been mentioned that residents will notice in 2026:

No Parking Zones - these will be placed on select shared-use path segments to keep walkways clear for everyone.

Mandatory Parking Zones and Physical Corrals - these will be installed in high-traffic areas and will help keep curb ramps and sidewalks accessible.

Device Clusters At Partner Sites - if you have ever felt like you've had to hunt down bikes so your entire group can enjoy a fun ride, that challenge was addressed as well.  In 2026, you'll find areas where it will be easier to find a scooter for group trips.

Way To Report Misparked Lime Devices - if you notice a spot where a Lime device is parked incorrectly, you can report it to rochestermn.gov/311
