The Human Library

If you're like me, you had to do a discount double check on that title. No click-bait here, friends! I'm hopeful you will join me at the Rochester Public Library for a chance to talk to someone outside your regular circle of friends and acquaintances. I truly believe many of the problems we have today as a society are because we don't consider what it's like to walk in other people's shoes. The Human Library will give you the chance to do just that. And they'll have REFRESHMENTS!

Come to Rochester’s first Human Library event! Check out a “Human Book” and have a meaningful conversation with a person of different beliefs, experiences, and history. You will have the opportunity to listen, to ask questions, and to challenge what you think you know about others. Loan periods are for 25 minutes. Refreshments will be provided, and as always the services of the Human Library are free to readers.
