Last Call For Popular Rochester Business Before It Closes For 2025

This past summer was epic for so many reasons:

  1. Thursdays Downtown was in full swing at a new location in Rochester
  2. Ton Loc entertained a massive crowd at the free Riverside Musice Series
  3. The Dairy Queen on North Broadway finally re-opened on July 16th, 2025!

Unfortunately, those classic cones with the swirl on top are sadly coming to an end this year at the oldest Dairy Queen in Minnesota.

Looks like the last day of October is the final day for grabbing a cone at the North Broadway location.

When Did The Oldest Dairy Queen in Minnesota Open Officially?

Most of us have always lived life knowing that a Dairy Queen blizzard or cone was just down the street.  That reality for kids in Minnesota didn't happen, though, until June 20th, 1947, when the first Dairy Queen opened in the Land of 10,000 Lakes at 538 N Broadway Avenue in Rochester.
