Rochester, MN (KROC AM News) -  A big pothole on a rural Olmsted County road is being blamed for a weekend traffic wreck that left one person with a broken neck.

The Olmsted County Sheriff’s office says a vehicle driven by 24-year-old James Hart of Byron was driving in the 6700 block of 60th Ave NW around 3 a.m. Sunday when he lost control of his vehicle after hitting the pothole. The vehicle left the road and rolled onto its top into a shallow creek.

A 25-year-old Byron man who was riding in the car suffered a fractured vertebrae but apparently did not report any paralysis. Hart and two other passengers were treated for non-life threatening injuries. A department spokesman says alcohol was not involved.
