Rochester, MN (KROC AM News)  –The Rochester Police Department is trying to locate the owner(s) of a World War II military service medal and some other items.

The medals and items were found last week (Sept 22) in a wooded area along the north side of Silver Lake Park. Police say the items were wrapped in an old sheet.

The medal is an Army Good Conduct Medal, World War II awarded. The crossed pistols would indicate Military Police service.

Police Captain John Sherwin says it’s not known if the items were taken in a burglary. If they were, it may have been some time ago.

The Police Department’s Property/Evidence section can be contacted directly at (507)328-6875.
